Your input, your stories

My past post was dedicated to my most recent weekend in Philadelphia. I was lucky enough to witness Occupy Philly and participate in Outfest. These things make me want to live in a city, more specifically, Philadelphia.

I guess my main question to all of you is, if you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why? Or are you satisfied with where you live?

  1. While, I am satisfied with the quiet suburb of Philly I live in now, if I could live anywhere in the world I would live in Ghana. Call me crazy, but I had the opportunity to visit Ghana for 5 weeks this past summer. The experience was amazing and life-changing!!! While, yes, it was extremely hot there and living conditions weren't always the best, I loved the culture. The people were probably my favorite part of Ghana. I like to say Ghanaians are beautiful people both inside and out. A lot of times, Ghanaians don't have much, but what they do have they are willing to give away out of the love and joy that fills their hearts. This taught me a valuable lesson: When I look at others, do I see a face or a soul? What I mean is, we should love others as people and for who they are not just treat them as a number in a system.

  2. I think I'm pretty satisfied living in West Chester. I grew up here, then moved to Ardmore in Montgomery County for a few years. Living there was very similar to living in West Chester, and I liked it. Then I moved to Drexel Hill for a year. I really had a bad experience there. Not only was the person who lived beneath me a loud smoker, my commute to work took a very long time because of all the traffic congestion. Give me West Chester any day!

  3. I am satisfied with living in West Chester for the present time. That said, a big dream of mine is owning a boat. You gotta live by water if you want to have a boat! After graduation, I'd like to move to the coast in Maryland or maybe somewhere further south. If I wasn't concerned about staying close to my family, I would move to the West Coast, no doubt; or maybe the Southwest, as I have always been interested in the history and cultures of this region. As far as foreign countries go, I think I could live abroad temporarily, but I'll probably settle down in the US.

  4. First and foremost I love the concept and name of your blog. I'm not one for reading blogs on the internet, but yours is pretty interesting. Also! I live right outside philadelphia, about 5minutes from the airport and 15-20 from the stadiums, plus my mom grew up in philly so... naturally I love Philadelphia. Although I love the city, I'm pretty content with West Chester... that's not to say that I would never try to live there for a couple years after I graduate. One of my friends recently graduated and lives right by the art musuem... but he is making good money for just graduating so obviously that helps. I say go for it and live there... at least for a couple years while you're young! ... If you get a well-paying job and can own an awesome studio apartment - even better!
